Thailand reopening

Thailand Reopening - Shortage of Scuba Diving Instructors?

Thailand reopening as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he has instructed the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) and the Public Health Ministry to reopen Thailand to fully vaccinated people without quarantine from 1 November 2021.
Thailand Reopening Shortage of Scuba Diving Instructors
The news of Thailand reopening is a welcome relief for the many businesses that rely on tourism, especially the many scuba diving schools and dive shops in Thailand.

Shortage of Scuba Diving Instructors with Thailand Reopening

Thailand reopening is great for business, but many dive shops in Thailand now face a problem, which is a huge shortage of diving instructors in Thailand.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit Thailand in 2019, many Scuba Diving Instructors left as international tourism came to an almost complete stop.
Thailand reopening without quarantine
You could still enter Thailand as a tourist, but you had to go through a 2-week quarantine procedure in a very expensive government-approved hotel. This made Thailand inaccessible for most tourists who decided to stay home or plan their holidays in easier accessible locations closer to home.

Thailand is one of the best places to learn how to scuba dive

Thailand is known for its amazing scuba diving and is an especially great country to learn how to scuba dive for beginners. With no tourists entering Thailand it didn’t take long for dive shops to close, resulting in many scuba diving instructors choosing to return to their home countries.

Now with Thailand reopening tourists are eager to return to Thailand and learn scuba diving, but many of the scuba diving instructors that left during the COVID-19 pandemic are not coming back, resulting in a shortage of scuba diving instructors in Thailand.

Great opportunity for new scuba diving instructors in Thailand

There is a shortage of dive instructors with Thailand reopening, but it also brings great opportunity for new scuba diving instructors that want to work in Thailand.
