The Importance of Taking Scuba Lessons
How often do you scuba dive? Regardless of how often you scuba dive -- whether you scuba dive frequently or you scuba dive only once of twice a year or whenever you go on vacation -- it is important that you take scuba lessons. Going through an intensive scuba training program before you scuba dive will help ensure that you make the best out of your scuba diving experience later on.

Take for example Sandy, a married woman. When she and her husband got married, they had their honeymoon in Aruba, a gift from their parents. A strong swimmer, Sandy was excited to try scuba diving even though she had no prior experience. She had never taken any scuba lessons. She had, however, snorkeled on a regular basis.
Sandy and her husband arrived in Aruba. During the first few days, they spent their time on the beach lazing under the sun and swimming. On their third day, Sandy set out in search of a scuba diving outfit so she could finally try scuba diving. Sandy found one, but before she was allowed to rent out , she was offered scuba training. Sandy was confident of her swimming skills and didn't think she needed more scuba training than the training being offered to her by the scuba diving outfit.
A few hours later, Sandy was ready to scuba dive the beautiful waters of the Aruba beach. Several minutes into her dive, Sandy noticed that the pressure setting on her scuba gear wasn't right. She tried to recall what the scuba diving outfit taught her during the short scuba lessons they gave her and adjust the pressure herself, but it did not make any difference on the pressure setting. Since she was still able to breathe comfortably even if the pressure setting was a bit off, Sandy decided to continue her scuba diving adventure.

How to produce clean, dry, divers breathing air that meets international standardsThis article exposes the commonly held misconceptions about how compressor filtrations systems really work, and underlines the essential checks and maintenance necessary to produce clean dry divers breathing air - and save the dive operator a pile of money long-term in unnecessary scuba tank replacement costs.
Several more minutes passed and Sandy felt some resistance when she drew air from the scuba gear. Although she could get air, Sandy found it hard. At this point, Sandy thought it wise to cut her scuba dive short and go up the surface. To Sandy, it seemed like her air supply had been all used up.
Later, Sandy discovered that she could have prevented the problem she experienced underwater if she had known about another adjustor on her scuba gear. Because she only took a few short scuba lessons, she was not trained to use this adjustor. Sandy was lucky that she scuba dived in shallow water. However, because she did not have intensive scuba lessons or training, she missed out on seeing and exploring the underwater world as extensively as she could have.
